

Overview
Joe is a litigation generalist that represents plaintiffs and defendants in tribunals across the country. He has broad experience in a range of matters involving class actions, data privacy, securities, corporate governance, contractual disputes, consumer rights, and constitutional law. Joe has deposed director and officer defendants in class actions with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake and briefed issues of first impression in successfully defending the largest data privacy class action settlement in history.
Joe graduated cum laude from Duke University School of Law, where he served on the Editorial Board of the school’s law review. He placed first overall in the Duke Law Jessup Cup Moot Court Tournament and was a finalist in the Twiggs Beskind Trial Competition. After law school, Joe served as a law clerk to the Honorable Andrew L. Brasher of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Honorable Rodolfo A. Ruiz II of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Representative Matters
- Successfully defended $725 million settlement in In re Facebook, Inc., Consumer Privacy Litigation (9th Cir. 2025) on appeal before the Ninth Circuit—the largest class recovery in a data privacy class action to date.
- Obtained a $32.5 million settlement on behalf of investors in Securities Act class action arising from an initial public offering by a COVID test company.
- Obtained a $15.25 million settlement on behalf of a pension fund client in Exchange Act litigation against a medical device company.
